Kending First Day

Reach Singapore airport as early as 4.30 am. Pretty excited! As it's my first time travelling to Taiwan. Plus its a 2 weeks holiday!

Date: 23 April 2016
Flight: Scoot
Time: 6.00 am
Arrival: 10.10 am
Terminal: 2

Flight delayed over at Singapore airport. Waiting and waiting. So coincidence to find out that Joanne and Yang kai is taking the same flight as us. The couple is going Taichung (台中) to take their wedding photos while my eldest sister and I was going to start our journey at Kenting (垦丁). Given that it is my first time to Taiwan, and as for my sister she went to Taipei only. Hence, we boldly decided and planned for a 2 weeks trips to travel to (Kenting, Xiao Liu Qiu, Alishan, Sun Moon Lake, Cingjing, Taichung and last stop, Taipei) to relax and enjoy ourselves. We definitely enjoyed ourselves although we fall sick during the trip.

Arrival at Kaohsiung Airport 高雄機場

Then, we went to queue up for the pre-paid simcard at the airport. There are several mobile stores in the arrival hall of Kaohsiung's Airport. (Such as Chunghwa, Taiwan Mobile, FarEastone and others). I opted for Chunghwa Mobile Services as there are many good feedback on the services) I bought 15 days unlimited data plan, which cost 700NTD only. Taiwan regulations require you to have two forms of ID, hence, identification such as passport is needed for verification purposes and to fill up a form to verify that you've purchase the simcard already.

After purchasing the simcard, all of us are feeling starving. There is a Family Mart (全家) shop located next to the mobile store area. Most of the tourist went in to purchase instant noodle or sushi roll to make their stomach full before travelling to their next destination.

Brewed Eggs

Sausages

We purchase the Taiwan famous instant noodle (满漢大餐) to fill up our stomach, together with the milk tea.

Got some sushi roll as well. It is something you must buy at Taiwan Family Mart Store.

A group photo before departing to our destination. Both of them took the train over to Taichung while the sisters took (shared a maxi cab) to kenting.

Transport Available:

Maxi cab kind (Fit 5 person) to Kenting; 500NT per person (Depend on how much the person set the price)
Just to take note, the van-transfer is a shared one, so there will be other travelers in the same van as you. The seats are not very squeezy though depends on the luggage size too.

My sister and I are pretty lucky enough to share one maxi cab with a family of 3, and the cost was 500 NTD per person. So still not bad comparing to our availability of transport that takes up more time. We took about 3 hours to reach our destination and I'm feeling tired!

Check-in: Love Sea 126 House Inn B&B (Do not that B&B do not have lift)
Price: $200.84 includes tax and service taxes (2 Nights)
Address: No. 126, Dawan Road, Kenting Street Kenting, Taiwan 946

Reached the minsu at around 3plus. Our room at level 3, and it does not have lift. We are lucky that the owner or staff helped us to carry our heavy luggage up to level 3. Pardon me, the journey was long and I'm feeling tired. Rest awhile and walked out to the kenting street for shopping. As it is still early, the night market stall holder is preparing to set up their stall.

We booked a sea view room. This is the so-called 'sea view' room we got. (Disappointed)

Along the street, we saw the Sail Rock 船帆石 along the street, so near yet so far. We will be visiting the place the next day.

Saw one of the sexiest shop with the sexiest display. (They are selling bikinis and flip flop)

The busy street. Street holder is preparing to setup the stall at around 5 plus..
Opening hour: 6pm to 11pm or so
Address: Kending Rd., Hengchun Township, Pingtung County 946, Taiwan

A selfie shot along the street

Me and my eldest sister!

The first stall we saw is the grilled beef. It look so juicy. We stop in front of the stall and ask for a portion for 1 as the portion was quite big. (100NTD, SGD 4) Us, enjoying the grilled beef! nomnom. This is our food journey! More food coming!

Then, we saw this grilled squid. My sister ordered one huge piece at 100NTD (SGD 4). Not so bad, there are option for the taste)

The very big fresh tiger prawn or something? Its worth it to buy and try it if you love to eat prawns

Corn dog Sausage. I don't really like it, but my sister do like it. Managed to give a bite only. :)

While waiting for our food to be done, I saw the stall next to it that attracts me. The snack store selling by a muscular guy.

Freshly steamed bun with cartoons! Bought a box of it. Can't remember how much its selling already. Inside the box, it contain different flavours, such as red bean, sesame etc. (Duck, Strawberry, bird, pig and panda)

Braised food (one big bag I can say and its really cheap, I don't see Singapore selling it) Nomnom! There is several stalls selling it.

One of the best clams we ever had. Love the garlic taste! It is a must to order when you're at kending.
100NTD (SGD 4)

When night falls, the crowds came in. TOO crowded! Walking down the street, we had to walk on the right side, while another side is for returning.

We walked to the games stall, this water balloon attracts me. Played several time just to win something from the stall. And here, I won a cat keychain. YAY!! It's a darting experience!

Bought some puppy and cats bow for our cats and neighbour's dog! :D

Along the road, we saw a street shop selling hair accessories and decided to stop by to take a look! Classy and easy to bun hair clip/bun!

The dogs in Taiwan had a great life, owner dragged them to the night market using pets trolley, or else  hand carried them. Unlike people in Singapore. Then we saw a stall selling pets collar, my sister then decided to purchase 2 ties collars, 3 bow collars for the cats and 1 for neighbour dog. After shopping for a long, we headed back to the hotel and have a rest!

Day 2 of 1 day tour (kending) will be up soon! If there is any question of enquiry, do leave a message on the chatlog or email me at princess-lifestories@hotmail.sg.
